After liberal hack and progressive porker Michael Moore stood outside of a Trump building holding a sign that read “WE ARE ALL MUSLIM,” Twitter erupted with an angry backlash.
Joining in on the wave of anger from people who were disgusted by Moore’s proclamation was Miss Puerto Rico, Destiny Velez. She said what so many others thought, but given the trend throughout the world to silence speech and punish those who utter what is deemed to be politically incorrect statements against Muslims, even following terrorist attacks by Muslim terrorists in Paris, San Bernardino, and other places throughout the world, I knew instantly she would face rebuke and reprimand, stripped of her crown or something. Sadly, I was right.
The Miss Puerto Rico Organization announced on Saturday that Velez has been suspended indefinitely. In their statement, they made it clear that there is a certain line you must toe in regards to your speech. If you fail to adhere to their control, and dare to speak out against Muslims, you will be punished.
In regards to Miss Puerto Rico, Destiny Velez’s, recent actions and conduct; the Miss Puerto Rico Organization feels that her words do not represent the integrity and esteem of our program, nor that of our board members, our sponsors and partners, or the National Organization.
Miss Velez’s actions were in contradiction to the organization, and therefore as a consequence of her actions, she has been suspended indefinitely. The Miss Puerto Rico Organization will not tolerate any actions or behavior contrary to the Miss Puerto Rico Organization.
Though I do not believe that Miss Puerto Rico had anything to apologize for, she did offer an apology. She said, “I apologize to the people I have offended with my words. I am first and foremost an #UpStander and as such I stand up against bullying. The last thing I wanted to do was to bully anyone. Again, I apologize to anyone who felt offended with my words.”
In case you missed it, here is what Destiny Velez tweeted after seeing Michael Moore proclaim that we are all Muslims.
She also called him out for his sacrilege in his insinuation that the god of Islam is the same as the God of Christians and Jews.
The message sent by the Miss Puerto Rico Organization is that if you dare speak out against Muslims and defend Christianity, you will be reprimanded strongly. The speech and thought police from pageant officials are Orwellian, plain and simple. This is a dangerous, slippery slope that these pageant officials are all too happy to follow.
