It seems as though Donald Trump finally has moved on from his ill-conceived attacks on a Gold Star family who lost their son in the Iraq War fighting for America — a battle he cannot win. But just when you think the saga, a saga that played a significant role in Trump’s nosedive in almost every poll last week, is over, here comes Trump cheerleader Ann Coulter to bring the issue to the surface.
But just when you think the saga, a saga that played a significant role in Trump’s nosedive in almost every poll last week, here comes Trump cheerleader Ann Coulter to bring the issue to the surface.
In a campaign appearance for Paul Nehlen, Paul Ryan’s primary challenger on Sunday, Coulter, much like Trump himself, just couldn’t help herself and viciously attacked the Gold Star family.
“From the reaction, you’d almost think Donald Trump had flown two planes into the World Trade Center,” Coulter told what appeared to be a very sparse crowd, even though the parents in question, Khizr and Ghazala Khan, lost their heroic son’s life fighting in a war caused by that attack.
An unhinged Ann Coulter then speculated on ways that the Khan family could be “honored,” such as “throwing gays off of buildings.”
“What other ways do we have to honor Mr. Khan?” Coulter asked. “Could Anderson Cooper check with him to see if we’re going to have to start throwing gays off of buildings?” she asked the audience, who cheered and laughed.
Ironically, despite his tough talk on immigration, and despite Coulter’s literal idol worship, Donald Trump endorsed three of the biggest open borders and pro-amnesty advocates in the country, RINO establishment globalists John McCain , Kelly Ayotte , and Paul Ryan himself.
I have to doubt that this is helping Paul Nehlen. Coulter apparently doesn’t know that there’s a difference between being politically incorrect and being a disrespectful nutjob and a horse’s ass. You can be firmly and principally against illegal immigration and for securing the border and even be for restricting immigration of Muslims from areas known to be a hotbed for jihad. But you don’t have to be so unhinged that you come across as a raging lunatic.
Ann Coulter has lost all respect.
Paul Nehlen’s primary challenge against Paul Ryan will be decided on Tuesday by Wisconsin voters. The most recent poll has him down by 66 points.
