Come to America! Here you can hop on welfare and receive free or low-cost housing, food, internet, phones, healthcare, childcare, schooling, and even air conditioners! If you want to wait in line to become a citizen, you won’t be asked to be a true American or to pledge allegiance to your new homeland. If you choose to jump the line and sneak into the country illegally, don’t worry, you will still be protected and afforded all the goodies that come as a reward for your criminality… But remember, you must vote Democrat! We rely upon you to vote your interests. With your help, we can make America as safe, wonderful and prosperous as Mexico!
Granted, the above immigration pitch is more candid than the Obama Administration likes to be, but the above rundown is essentially the gist of modern immigration policy under President Obama.
In a startling move, the Obama Administration now exempts immigrants becoming naturalized citizens from having to take the oath of allegiance.
Immigrants who are foolish enough to actually obey the law and become Americans the legal way no longer have to pledge to “bear arms on behalf of the United States” as they can now opt-out of the important part of being an American. Further, they do not have to explain any religious beliefs that might forbid them from engaging in war.
In essence, one can now come to America for all the benefits of our vast opportunities and cradle-to-grave welfare, but no longer have to actually love their new homeland.
The oath has been recited by millions of immigrants in recent decades. Over 15 million have been naturalized since 1980 and another 18.7 million are awaiting naturalization. Roughly 750,000 will be naturalized in the coming year.
The Obama Administration declared the new policy in 2015, but the Republican-controlled Congress did nothing to stop it.
The executive made a new law and the so-called Republicans did nothing. They held no vote to overturn this policy. They did not protest. They did nothing.
The truth is that President Obama hates this country. He hates what it stands for. Harboring a globalist viewpoint, Barack despises the “haves” and favors the “have-nots.” America is most-certainly a “have” country and thus, to Obama, a part of the problem.
With the president despising this country so much, it seems only fitting that he would excuse others from having to declare support for it. Still, it is nonetheless shocking and so, so sad.
