[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]After the terrorist attack on our Marines in Chattanooga, Tennessee, it seems clear that our men and women in uniform are in danger not only on the battlefields of the Middle East, but here at home, too.[/vc_column_text][banner300 banner=”5517620b381df”][vc_column_text]However, while the military should remind service members of the dangers that face them, the Army has cited armed patriotic Americans as the real risk to the safety of our service members.
The U.S. military trains our men and women with some of the finest weapons in the world yet simply refuse to allow these same trained professionals the right to carry sidearms on military installations. In doing so, the bureaucrats who remain safe and sound condemn others to danger by creating a “gun-free” zone that can attract terrorists.
To help remedy this outrage, many armed patriotic volunteers have begun to stand guard outside military recruiting centers throughout the country- not only as a sign of solidarity, but as a deterrent against the kind of violence witnessed in Chattanooga.
So, with volunteers doing what military bureaucrats will not, one would think these paper-pushers would be thankful, right?
According to the Army Command Operations Center-Security Division, those who stand guard are a threat to the safety of the military members and should be reported to local police. In a letter to recruiting stations obtained by Stars and Stripes,
“I’m sure the citizens mean well, but we cannot assume this in every case and we do not want to advocate this behavior. If questioned by these alleged concerned citizens, be polite, professional and terminate the conversation immediately and report the incident to local law enforcement.”
“Ensure your recruiters clearly articulate to local police the civilian may be armed and in possession of a conceal/carry permit.”
Only in Obama’s America could the terrorists who target our military members be offered the benefit of the doubt while armed patriotic Americans are eyed suspiciously for simply carrying weapons in close proximity to military recruiting stations.
If the Western World is to defeat terrorism, the U.S. government must first begin taking the threat of terrorism seriously enough to arm our soldiers.
It, frankly, seems like a no-brainer.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
