The left is in absolute agreement that psychopaths should not be shooting-up schools. However, where the left and right tend to disagree is in how to stop said psychos.
The left believes cowering to be the best way to preserve lives. In a pinch, they recommend using staplers and scissors to fight off gunmen with those scary-looking rifles and pistols.
The right, in contrast, believes a gun in the right hands can save lives. When a psycho (or psychos) begins shooting, cowering and fighting with office supplies can only do so much. In case you haven’t heard it yet: the best way to stop a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun.
That’s the message being understood in Colorado.
Douglas County School District Director of Safety and Security Rich Payne has taken a bold step in helping keep his school district safe. He has purchased ten semiauto Bushmaster rifles.
These are “assault rifles” to the MSNBC-parroting crowd…
According to the Denver Post, the rifles cost $12,300 and the district neither voted on nor discussed the purchase. Payne saw what needed to be done and did it.
The guns will be used by trained security officers and will not be readily-accessible on school grounds, but will be stored securely in patrol vehicles.
“The weapons currently every day will be inside of a locked safe in a secured room inside the security department. They’ll be deployed into a locking mechanism that is inside our patrol vehicles very similar to the locking mechanisms that are inside law enforcement patrol vehicles and they will only be deployed if there is a situation where they need to be deployed,” Payne explained.
The armed security guards are former law enforcement officers who “train side-by-side” with the sheriff’s department and who will undergo special training before being allowed to use the new weapons.
“Our main focus is to make sure that all of the students, staff, parents and community members are safe when they’re on any of our school properties,” he said.
Such a bold move will undoubtedly scare the pants off those who prefer to craft their world view and belief systems on knee-jerk reactions and feelings in lieu of rational thought.
However, those who understand that guns in the right hands of trained people is the surest method of ensuring the preservation of lives will undoubtedly rejoice at the no-compromising position of the man who evidently takes his role as safety officer seriously.
