Black Lives Matter started with a series of obnoxious attention-grabbing events. Like a flash mob who spewed racial hatred instead of synchronized joy, groups of black protesters showed up to restaurants and malls to berate and harass white patrons who were simply minding their own business.
The movement soon moved to college campuses to take hold of the impressionable and naïve minds of America’s future social justice warriors. Here, the group became more radicalized and began issuing racist demands which cowardly administrators rushed to fulfill.
Beyond the nauseating rhetoric and calls for the legitimization of black supremacist ideology, the movement has taken a sharply more-radical turn as more and more, the group is turning to segregationist policies as a means of achieving the sociopolitical racial superiority it has sought for over a year.
Recently, a Black Lives Matter group was disallowed the use of a meeting room at a Nashville public library. The group has claimed that “white supremacy” within the city government has caused them to lose their meeting space.
The reason the group was disallowed from meeting at the taxpayer-provided meeting space? It was a segregated event where only “black and non-black people of color” were allowed.
That means no whites.
Of course, the whiney group that sees racism behind every word or deed, unsurprisingly, cited “white supremacy” as the cause. In a Facebook post, the group alerted supporters:
“Due to white supremacy in our local government, this week’s BLM General Body Meeting location has changed… BLM General Body Meetings are open to black and non-black people of color only.”
Joshua Crutchfield, an organizer of the Nashville chapter of the black supremacists, claimed,
“We were surprised about it, but we shouldn’t have been,” Crutchfield said. “We kind of know the history about how this goes in this country. … It’s definitely something we want to make public to tell people what’s going on in the city.”
If Crutchfield “knows the history,” he should probably understand that segregationist policies for meetings that occur on public property that are designed to discriminate based solely on race has been illegal for quite some time.
Instead of opening the meeting to all, the group has moved down the road a mile to a church which has agreed to facilitate the bigots.
The library maintained that they didn’t cancel the meeting. “The library didn’t cancel anyone’s meeting,” said library spokeswoman Emily Waltenbaugh. “We’re taxpayer funded. We have to be open to anyone any time.”
Sadly, this is not the first time (or, I suspect, the last time) Black Lives Matter has promoted an agenda if racial segregation. Students at Mizzou created a “black-only” space last year.
To emphasize how ridiculously racist this organization is, let’s imagine the circumstances inverted. A group of white supremacists have decided to meet at a public library to discuss how to best advance their race to a place of higher social and political standing than that of other races. To aid in this endeavor, these white supremacists have created a policy for their meeting being held on public property that no blacks are allowed.
We are culturally accustomed to viewing racism through the lens of our understanding of historical inequalities- with blacks as the oppressed and whites as the oppressors.
While there will always be racists sprinkled throughout society, this model of systemic racism has largely been rendered obsolete and thoroughly dismantled. Now, those who seek to promote black racial superiority have conjured imagined insults and slights to justify a truly virulently racist agenda that they seek to legitimize by cloaking it within the guise of a promotion of civil rights and social justice.
They may call it whatever they like; the fact is that we have a widespread group of volunteers throughout America that assert that in order to effect true racial justice, whites must be abused and relegated to the role of second-class citizens. The sooner we call these bigots what they truly are, the quicker we can deny these racists the political and social legitimacy they crave.
