UPDATE: Seven People Killed Randomly by Shooter in Michigan; Strong Suspect in Custody

WOODTV is reporting that multiple people have been shot dead randomly in various locations in Kalamazoo County, Michigan. The suspect is still on the loose.

Paul Matyas, Undersheriff of Kalamazoo County, spoke with News 8 and said that fatal shootings of multiple people occurred at the Cracker Barrel in Texas Township and the Seelye Ford dealership.

A total of seven people are reportedly dead.

The shootings appear to be related. Matyas added, “We have somebody who is just driving around finding people and shooting them dead in their tracks.”

Neither the identity of the suspect nor a name has been released. He is believed to be driving a dark blue Chevy HHR.

Again, the suspect is not in custody and is believed to be shooting people at random throughout the Kalamazoo County. Police are currently actively searching for the suspect.

UPDATE: Police have identified the suspected mass murderer as 45-year-old Jason Dalton, and this story has been updated that there are now seven reported dead, not six as was earlier reported:
