BREAKING: First 2016 GOP Presidential Candidate Just Dropped Out…

The first Republican presidential candidate for 2016 just dropped out of the race. The announcement may not come as a surprise for some.

Former Texas Governor Rick Perry, who also ran for the presidency in 2012, announced Friday afternoon that he is suspending his campaign. Perry, the longest serving governor in Texas history, just could not seem to gain momentum in his campaign despite the state of Texas being responsible for the majority of job growth in the United States under his governorship during the past few years.

Perry took to Twitter to announce his decision to suspend his campaign in a series of tweets.

Perry was speaking before the Eagle Forum.

Last week, fellow Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump said during a speech that Perry was dropping out of the race, an accusation that Perry vehemently denied.

It looks like Trump was right about the future of Perry’s campaign, just as he was right about the fact that criminal illegals are crossing our southern border.
