With 44% of precincts reporting in South Carolina, establishment darling and RINO Jeb! Bush is officially in fourth place at 8.3%.
Prior to entering the race, Jeb Bush was declared by the establishment to be the frontrunner thanks to his astronomical fundraising of $150 million. But, the money didn’t translate into success in Bush’s presidential campaign. It seemed the more he spent, the worse he did in the polls. Rumor had it that donors told Jeb Bush if he did not finish in the top three in South Carolina, then his campaign would have to end.
Tonight, as Jeb currently sits in fourth place, with Ohio Governor John Kasich close behind, Bush announced that he is suspending his campaign.
After spending months hiding from his name, perhaps knowing that many people did not want another Bush in the White House, Jeb Bush began trotting out his mother, Barbara Bush, and his brother, former President George W. Bush, in an attempt to salvage his campaign.
It didn’t work.
Bush was labeled as “low energy” by bombastic billionaire and reality TV star Donald Trump early in his campaign. It was a label that stuck and that Jeb Bush could never really overcome, despite having an improved debate performance in New Hampshire.
There was no announcement which, if any, candidate he will throw his support behind.
