BREAKING: Marco Rubio Makes It Official, Announced 2016 Presidential Campaign

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Florida Senator Marco Rubio revealed on his Facebook page that he had a big announcement that will be made at 6 pm Eastern time on Monday. It has been believed that, at that time, he would announce that he was going to run for the Republican nomination for President in 2016. During a conference call with top donors, Rubio confirmed his candidacy.[/vc_column_text][banner300 banner=”5517620b381df”][vc_column_text]Yahoo News reports on some of the details of the call as reported by the AP.

Rubio reportedly made the comments in a conference call with his top donors, where he said he feels “uniquely qualified” to run for the White House under the Republican banner. An unnamed Rubio adviser subsequently confirmed the report to CNN.

According to the AP, Rubio also took a swipe at Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton, who announced her own presidential campaign on Sunday.

“Rubio said the former first lady ‘is a leader from yesterday,'” the AP’s Philip Elliott and Brendan Farrington wrote. “Rubio says he has always felt the United States is about tomorrow.”

Rubio becomes the third Republican to official enter the presidential race joining his fellow senators Ted Cruz and Rand Paul.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
