Two suspects, who are believed to be Palestinian, entered a marketplace in central Tel Aviv, the largest in Israel, dressed as Orthodox Jews and began firing indiscriminately at around 9:30 to 10 pm local time. The men, believed to be brothers or cousins, were unprovoked as they fired their weapons to inflict the most damage. Survivors say they were smiling as they opened fire.
Reports indicate that nine people were wounded and four have died. Five of the wounded are reportedly in severe condition.
While security has been increased and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is en route to the scene, no terror alert has been issued yet in Israel.
Netanyahu will be meeting with security forces to determine next steps.
The attackers are said to have been ‘neutralized,’ either in custody and/or shot.
Video of police shooting one of the terrorists was posted on Twitter.

There was no terror alert in effect prior to the attack which occurred in an upscale area not far from the military compound and the Defense Ministry.
The shootings were not done at random. Police say Israelis, specifically, were targeted in the attack.
Palestinians celebrated the attack and bloodshed in Israel. Muslims recently began Ramadan and the Palestinians celebrated what they described as this “holy” attack.
