This Business Icon Just Revealed his Top Presidential Pick; Will GOP Establishment Freak Out?

Former GE CEO Jack Welch, during an appearance on Fox News’ Your World with Neil Cavuto on Thursday let the cat out of the bag regarding who his favorite 2016 presidential candidate. Welch said that we need more truth and trust in politics. For that reason, his pick right now for president in 2016 is Texas Senator Ted Cruz.

Asked directly whether he is a Ted Cruz guy by Cavuto, Welch quickly said, “As of today I am a Ted Cruz guy.” In speaking about why he likes Cruz, Welch said, “Look, in this book, MBA in a Box, we talk about one thing. Truth and trust which are the things of leadership. Where truth is spoken, spin is gone. Trust in the person saying it. The country needs more truth and trust. Ted Cruz says what he is going to do, and he does it. He’s as smart as a whip and he’s a good bet on right now.” Cavuto points out the irony of seeing Welch, who is viewed as an establishment type, back Cruz, an anti-establishment Tea Party favorite.

The book to which Welch was referring is one that he co-authored with his wife, Suzy Welch, entitled, The Real-Life MBA: Your No BS Guide to Winning the Game, Building a Team, and Growing Your Career.

Cavuto then shared that he believes Welch is good at judging people’s reactions. He noted that Welch has spoken about the passion that Ted Cruz instills when he speaks, however that is not being picked up by the mainstream media. Welch, a legendary business icon, weighed in onto why he believes that is happening. He said, “They don’t like him. They’ve dubbed him crazy.”

Of course, we all know another candidate in modern history that both the mainstream media and the Republican establishment dubbed as crazy — Ronald Reagan, the most successful president of our lifetime.
