Of course, he did.
The Wall Street Journal reports:
Former House Speaker John Boehner has joined the board of Reynolds American Inc., the tobacco company said Thursday, a move that comes as it faces new pressure over menthol cigarettes.
Mr. Boehner, a noted cigarette smoker, resigned from the House last year after more than four years as speaker and almost a quarter century in the House. In an interview with the Journal last December, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said he missed Mr. Boehner at work, but he didn’t miss his cigarette smoke.
“You could walk out here in the hall and close your eyes and you knew where to walk toward the odor emanating from the former speaker’s office,” Mr. McConnell said with a laugh. Mr. Boehner has said he smokes Camel Ultra Lights.
This is cronyism at its worse. Not shocking coming from the ultimate crony — John “Bendover” Boehner. And here we thought we were rid of him. But hey, at lease it’s a product that he believes in.
