Carly Fiorina Comes Out Swinging Against GOP Establishment Favorite Jeb Bush

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Former Hewlett Packard CEO Carly Fiorina has not held back on her criticism against Democrat presidential candidate Hillary Clinton. She has frequently criticized Hillary’s lack of accomplishment, failures in foreign policy, and lack of transparency and trustworthiness. During an interview on the Laura Ingraham Show, Fiorina took aim at another establishment figure, this time from her side of the political aisle.[/vc_column_text][banner300 banner=”5517620b381df”][vc_column_text]Former Florida Governor Jeb Bush has not yet officially entered the 2016 presidential race, yet GOP establishment loving pundits have named him as the frontrunner, despite the fact that he is dropping in the polls. Two of the biggest criticisms the grassroots have against Jeb Bush is the fact that he has gone on record as supporting both Common Core and amnesty. These two topics were also a major focus of Fiorina’s criticism of Bush.

Fiorina expressed similar concerns of the conservative grassroots in questioning just how anti-big government Bush is. With Common Core seen as a federal intrusion in the education system, something which should be handled at the state and local level, Jeb Bush’s support of it is a cause of concern for many. Fiorina said given Bush’s support for Common Core, she is not certain that Bush believes that “government is too powerful.”

From beginning to end, she did not hold back in this interview. Fiorina said, “Jeb Bush is dead wrong on a couple issues. He’s dead wrong on comprehensive immigration reform. He’s dead wrong on Common Core. He’s dead wrong about government being too powerful. I think government is too powerful, I’m not sure he believes that.”

Addressing the importance of the GOP nominating a candidate who can beat Hillary Clinton, she added, “There’s going to be lots of time to distinguish among the ideas and the platforms and the background and the experience of all of these candidates. But there’s no question that there are big government Republicans and big government Democrats.”

Fiorina continued with a focus on the record of Jeb Bush, which she says indicates that he is clearly a big government Republican. She told Ingraham, “Jeb Bush’s record suggests that he is a big government Republican. I don’t tend to agree — Common Core. You and I have had this discussion before. His answer on Common Core is that, ‘well it’s not intended to be a heavy-handed bureaucratic program. It’s intended to be a set of nationwide standards.’”

She also spoke about the dangers of a heavy-handed bureacracy. She said, “Bureaucracies only know one way. It’s called heavy-handed. So if you get a federal bureaucracy, or in some cases, even a state bureaucracy, involved in anything, it will become heavy-handed. That’s how we’ve gotten bigger and bigger government under both Republicans and Democrats.”
