Cascade Mall Shooter Captured; Despite Reports, He Wasn’t Hispanic

Police in Burlington, Washington have captured the suspect in the shooting at Cascade Mall Friday night which left five dead. Although the suspect had been identified as a Hispanic male, he was not Hispanic in the least. Twenty-year old Arcan Certin, a native of Adana, Turkey who attended Oak Harbor High School, was captured in Oak Harbor, located about 30 miles from Burlington.

Among those killed by Cetin was a 16-year old cancer survivor.

Cetin was previously arrested in July 2015 for fourth-degree assault.

Three of his five victims have been identified and pictures released. Sixteen-year-old Sarai Lara was a sophomore at Mount Vernon High School.  Belinda Galde and her 95-year-old mother Beatrice Dotson were shopping together at the mall. Galde was a probation officer.

Earlier on Saturday, Burlington Mayor Steve Sexton did not mince words when he held a press conference about the manhunt for Cetin, then not yet identified. He said, “I know our main support goes with them to help them the long arm of the law to bring the son of a bitch to justice who did this to our community.”
