On Monday morning, the official White House Easter Egg Roll was held on the White House lawn. As is traditional, thousands of children and their families gathered for the festivities. President Trump did what all presidents do on that day. He gave opening remarks, visited with the kids and participated in many of the activities.
During his opening remarks, however, President Trump revealed something they would be doing as part of the day’s activities. He let it be known that the men and women in our military would be a special part of the day as well.
“We’re going to do cards for soldiers in a little bit, Melania and Barron and myself. We’re going downstairs, we’re going to sign some cards to our great troops — they’re cards for troops — and we look forward to that.”
Later in the day, President Trump made good on that promise. He strolled over to a table filled with kids decorating Easter cards for the soldier, sat down, picked up a marker and wrote a personal note inside one of them.
The note says:
“Dear Brave Soldier,
Thank you for your service. Great Job!
