Chris Christie Finally Does Something Right

New Jersey Governor Chris Christie has issued a pardon for Shaneen Allen, the single mother from Pennsylvania who was arrested in his state back in 2013 on gun possession charges. Allen had legal permits for her weapons in her home state of Pennsylvania, she didn’t realize those permits were not valid in the State of New Jersey.

When she was stopped for a traffic violation, she told the police officer about the weapon she possessed in her vehicle. Allen faced the possibility of a stiff prison sentence due to New Jersey’s strict gun laws. She was finally placed in a diversion program after public outcry since she had no criminal record. The program would have allowed her to avoid any jail time. With Christie’s pardon, however, Allen’s record is completely wiped clean without the need for participation in any program.

Below is the text of his pardon.
