[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Every day in America, someone is saved by a “good guy with a gun.” The media overlooks this simple fact, but each day in America, a homeowner will reach for the .357 in the nightstand and investigate the suspicious noise coming from the backyard. Far-left homeowners will hunker-down, clutching a phone in their hand, hoping, praying that a police officer- a good guy with a gun-makes it to their home in time to stop an intruder attempting to get into the house.[/vc_column_text][banner300 banner=”5517620b381df”][vc_column_text]Each day, lives are saved by firearms in the right hands. Still, if the media is to be believed, firearms are only for hunters, the military, police and nefarious criminal elements.
However, in every state of the union, men and women are walking around armed. They are seldom noticed, as is the point of a concealed weapon. But they’re there.
One such responsible man Patrick Ewing, a 62 year-old man who shot a crazed gunman who opened fire on four people, including a 1 year-old child.
Reportedly, Thomas McCary was arguing with a woman in his apartment complex on Sunday night. When Ewing, the woman’s brother, approached, McCary drew a .38 revolver and began firing at Ewing.
Ewing pulled his own gun, which he was permitted to have on him, and returned fire, hitting McCary in the leg. McCary retreated to his home, and returned with another gun, one in each hand, and began firing at the woman, her 1 year-old son, another man and Ewing.
As the unarmed people fled back their own apartment, Ewing laid-down covering fire for the retreat and McCary was finally arrested by police. Ewing was not arrested.
It sounds like a harrowing tale out of an action movie, but while such shootouts are somewhat rare, they occur. It is not only the police who encounter dangerous would-be murderers; common citizens run into them, too.
While we as a society must work diligently to highlight and condemn those who misuse firearms, we must never fall into the trap laid by the left and only discuss the potential misuse of firearms; we must illustrate the usefulness of these tools and the publicize these instances where “good guys with guns” save the day[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
