The powerful and influential Senate Conservatives Fund, founded by former senator and how leader of the Heritage Foundation, Jim DeMint, is calling for RINO Surrender Caucus Leader, Obama’s Mitch McConnell, to join John Boehner and step down.
In a stinging rebuke of the Senate Majority Leader, the SCF said that “McConnell is just as hostile to conservatives and our principles, if not more so, than Speaker Boehner.”
As presidential candidate Ted Cruz has repeatedly pointed out, the results under a Republican majority led by Mitch McConnell, are no different from if far-left Harry Reid had stayed on as leader:
Since January, McConnell has funded executive amnesty, confirmed Loretta Lynch, worked to rescue the Export-Import Bank, passed a bloated highway bill, and is now working to pass a continuing resolution that fully funds Planned Parenthood, Obamacare, sanctuary cities, and the reckless Iran nuclear deal.
His failure to fight for limited government has driven the Republican Party’s image into the dirt, face first with no hands to catch itself. And yet, later this year he wants to bust the spending caps and raise the debt limit again!
Additionally, in a letter signed by Senate Conservative Fund president Ken Cuccinelli, the group blasted RINO McConnell for continued funding of Obamacare and for fighting alongside Obama to raise the debt ceiling.
SCF also strongly rebuked McConnell’s shady, underhanded “war on conservatives” giving the example of siding with corrupt Senator Thad Cochran in Mississippi who was being challenged by principled constitutional conservative Chris McDaniel:
Before Republicans won the majority, McConnell cut deals with President Obama to fund Obamacare, raise the debt limit, and raise taxes on 80% of Americans as part of the fiscal cliff tax hike.
In 2014, McConnell openly declared war on conservatives. He forced the party’s campaign committees to blacklist private firms that did work for our organization and vowed to “crush” our candidates “everywhere.”
And who could forget what McConnell did in Mississippi last year. He and his operatives used race-baiting attack ads to recruit Democrats to hijack the Republican primary election for U.S. Senate.
All of this was done so he could have more people in the Senate who would compromise with the Democrats.
Cuccinelli announced that the group is building a major grassroots effort to force McConnell to step down, even promising a free “Ditch Mitch” bumper sticker.
“It’s free because we want to spread the word and mobilize people across the country to fight for new leadership,” he writes.
SCF states that they raised over $2 million in the effort to defeat McConnell in his 2014 re-election bid, and says that while the entrenched big government Republican may have won that battle, “he exposed his true colors in the process and is now in danger of losing the war that he started.”
On Friday, Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal and GOP presidential candidate called for McConnell to follow Boehner’s lead and resign.
Speaking at the Values Voter Summit in Washington, DC, Governor Jindal said:
“If Senator McConnell is not willing to fight for our conservative principles, then he needs to follow John Boehner’s example — the Surrender Caucus needs to surrender their gavels and turn it in.”
Congressman Matt Salmon (R-AZ) said after Boehner’s stunning resignation that McConnell is the “next guy in the crosshairs.”
The pressure is building on Obama’s Mitch. Hopefully, he’s do the honorable thing and resign for the good of the country.
