Conservative Sheriff Says He’s STILL Waiting for Obama to Answer His Question from Thursday

On Thursday, Arizona Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu asked President Obama a direct question on national television. The sheriff says that a day later, he’s still waiting for an answer.

The town hall-style conversation between Barack Obama and the American people took place on Thursday night. As a weak attempt at showcasing transparency, President Obama offered largely his standard, canned answers and lies regarding gun violence in America.

While the president has shed crocodile tears over recent mass shootings, the fact remains that none of the recent mass shootings that have dominated America’s headlines could have been prevented by an expansion of background checks, the move ordered by Obama’s unconstitutional executive fiat.

Noting this fact, Sheriff Babeu, who, in the wake of the San Bernardino terrorist attack, warned citizens that they would be well-advised to arm themselves, asked Obama what shooting could have been thwarted by Obama’s unilateral expansion of background checks and how would his actions compel criminals to follow these laws.

Obama offered a lackluster answer that hinged on the standard dodge of “Just because we can’t solve every crime doesn’t mean we shouldn’t try to solve any crime.”

The meandering answer is the standard leftist answer that says much while actually saying little. Of course it is unreasonable to believe that there will ever be a single law that magically eradicates crime. However, what Obama and his merry band of tyrants have neglected to highlight is how, exactly, imposing more unconstitutional restrictions upon the law-abiding will help in any meaningful way to deter crime.

As guns are used by the law-abiding as means of self-defense, restricting access to guns for these lawful gun owners is not only constitutionally prohibited, but likely to spur further violence at the hands of criminals.

Case-in-point: to see a perfect illustration of the failure of gun control policies that adversely affect the law-abiding, please see Obama’s hometown of Chicago, a gun control paradise awash in rampant gun violence.

Obama’s non-answer was pathetic and Babeu says that he’s still waiting for his answer.

“Clearly he didn’t answer that. When you’re looking at all these mass shootings, everyone, especially those of us in law enforcement have a passion to protect people and save lives, what are we going to do to stop these mass shootings?” Babeu said on Friday.
