Last night, Dylann Storm Roof committed a horrific crime. After sitting in a church, the 150-year old historically black AME Church in Charleston, South Carolina, for over an hour at a prayer group, Roof open fire on those in attendance killing 9 people. There were two who survived, a five-year old girl who played dead and a woman who Roof let live so that she could tell everyone what he did.
Soon after he was caught by authorities 250 miles away from the scene of the crime in North Carolina, opportunists immediately went on the attack playing partisan politics by blaming Republicans, stating that all white people are to blame for the crime, and pushing for increased gun control.
Not surprisingly, Barack Obama spoke about the horrific shooting, before jetting off to Hollywood for a fundraiser with his millionaire and billionaire buddies, and used it as an opportunity to push for gun control by spouting lies.

He falsely claimed, “But let’s be clear: At some point, we as a country will have to reckon with the fact that this type of mass violence does not happen in other advanced countries. It doesn’t happen in other places with this kind of frequency. And it is in our power to do something about it.”
Although he didn’t utter the words “gun control” that is precisely what Obama meant since the fundamental transformation, or virtually elimination, of our constitutionally guaranteed gun rights is on his list of target areas of our freedoms to tear apart.
Enter Dana Loesch, the fearless talk radio host, conservative commentator, and host of The Dana Show on The Blaze.
Loesch revealed some key facts about the shooter, Roof, that completely tears apart the left’s call for the need for more gun control in order to stop heinous crimes such as this one.
For starters, Loesch offered proof that Roof was not legally allowed to own a gun because he was arrested and charged with felony drug possession of cocaine, methamphetamine and LSD in February 2015. This alone would have disqualified him from purchasing a gun and he would have failed a background check.
But, there’s more.
There were reports that Roof’s father purchased a gun for him as a gift for his 21st birthday, which was April 4, two months after his felony charge and arrest.
According to Loesch, “This means if his father purchased a gun for his birthday it was a straw purchase, a felony, punishable by up to 10 years in jail and a $250,000 fine.”
Loesch references an article by Jim Hoft regarding statements made by Roof’s friend, Justin Meeks. During an appearance with Greta Van Sustern On the Record, Dylann’s mother knew that he had a gun and that he should not be in possession of one. So, she took it from him. Meeks said that Dylann stole the gun from his mother.
As horrible as this crime is, gun control is not the answer to ending such violence. After all, we have witnessed a beheading in our own country as well as attacks on police with machetes. A criminal with a desire to kill or inflict harm will use whatever means necessary. We don’t have a gun control issue. We have an issue with evil in this world, and that is something that you cannot legislate away.
