You’ve got to hand it to Democrat congresswoman and military veteran Tulsi Gabbard . Last October, the Hawaii representative, who was the vice chair of the Democrat National Committee (DNC) before stepping down to work on Bernie Sanders ‘ presidential campaign, boldly stated that it was “crazy” for Obama to sugar-coat radical Islamic terrorism with politically correct vague terms like “violent extremism.”
Well, Tulsi Gabbard is standing up to Obama again, stating that it is impossible to defeat an enemy if you’re unwilling to even identify the enemy with the proper name.
Gabbard strongly condemned Obama’s attempt to paint the war against radical Islamic terrorism as only being against ISIS, explaining to CNN’s Wolf Blitzer on Friday that the battle goes beyond just ISIS.
“I think it’s important that you identify your enemy, you know who they are, you call them by name and you understand the ideology that’s driving them,” Rep. Gabbard told Blitzer, explaining that she’s long disagreed with Obama’s obsession with avoiding the term “radical Islamic terrorism.”
The Hawaii congresswoman said that while she understands Obama’s unwillingness to paint all Muslims with the same brush, saying “radical Islamic terrorism” actually communicates an important distinction between the “vast majority of Muslims” and terrorists like those in al-Qaeda and ISIS who “believe that unless you abide by their Caliphate and their theocracy, you should be killed.”
A Democrat who is willing to stand up to the Left’s false god of political correctness — the Democrat Party’s golden calf? What will they think of next?
