[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Democrat Senate Leader Harry Reid recently admitted that he lied about Mitt Romney not paying taxes for ten years, an invented narrative Reid created out of thin air as a way to question Romney’s character and credibility and continue to demonize Romney as being an evil, money-grubbing capitalist.[/vc_column_text][banner300 banner=”5517620b381df”][vc_column_text]In the heat of the 2012 presidential campaign, Senate Majority Leader Reid spoke the outrageous lie, using his position of power on the Senate floor, even though he had not an ounce of evidence that the accusation against Romney was true.
A week ago, Reid justified the lie, in pure Saul Alinsky “ends justifies the means” fashion.
When asked by CNN’s Dana Bash if Reid had any regrets about his false accusations about Romney, Reid answered, when Bash said that some people are calling his tactic “McCarthyism,” “Well, they can call it whatever they want. Romney didn’t win, did he?”
Reid, who resides in a lavish Ritz-Carlton penthouse while living off on a government salary his entire career, but yet thinks he qualifies to use the class envy card, was given yet another chance to apologize for his seedy ploy.
In an interview with Fusion, interviewer Jorge Ramos asked Reid, “August 2012, you said on the Senate floor that Mitt Romney had not paid taxes in ten years. But there was no evidence of that. Did you purposely lie?”
Reid snipped that the issue has been “blown out way out of proportion,” and claimed that his only goal of the blatant lie was to get Romney, the Republican challenger to Democrat Barack Obama, to reveal his tax returns to the American people.
When Ramos pointed out that Romney had told CBS that he had “paid taxes every year. A lot of taxes,” Reid retorted, “But that’s a phony answer! Of course he paid taxes [again, admitting he lied to the American people]. What he didn’t do is let us see his tax returns.”
Reid was again provided the opportunity to retract his lie, albeit belatedly, but the stubborn entrenched “progressive” Democrat again refused to apologize for his politically motivated smear.
