The last debate for the 2016 presidential election will be moderated by FOX News’ Chris Wallace and held in Las Vegas tomorrow, October 19. Ahead of the debate, one of the best known entertainers in Las Vegas, Wayne Newton, spoke with WABC radio’s Rita Crosby and came to the defense of his long-time friend, Donald Trump.
In regards to criticism that Trump mistreats women, Newton said in 30 years he has never witnessed such actions.
“I have known Donald Trump in excess of 30 years,” Newton said. “I’ve been with him on many different occasions, under many different circumstances. I have never seen him be unkind; I have never seen him treat women in a derisive way in any form or fashion.
“And I think all you have to do is look at his kids, to know that his heart is where those kids are, and they represent him best of all.”
When asked about accusations that Donald Trump used his status as owner of the Miss Universe pageant to spy on naked women, Newton again came to his defense.
“I have never seen him under any circumstances react in an irresponsible way toward a lady,” he said. “I have never seen him say unkind things to a lady. I have never seen him say an unkind word to anybody.
Newton even came to Trump’s defense regarding the Trump Tapes, audio and video of Trump bragging that he could kiss a woman without asking or even “grab a woman by the pussy” because of his celebrity status.
“I have been the victim myself of walking into a studio and them putting a microphone on you, and then turning you loose for two or three hours to go do what you’re going to do,” Newton said. “Unfortunately he said some things he shouldn’t have said, but haven’t we all, OK?”
Wayne Newton’s support of Donald Trump candidacy is not new. The man, known as “Mr. Las Vegas” previously endorsed Trump and he has made it clear that he is sticking by him even through this salacious allegations.
