Hillary Clinton is a corrupt, lying, opportunist, but the one area in which she has been consistent is in her gun grabbing ways and desire to punish law-abiding gun owners in an attempt to curb “gun violence” as if a gun, which is an inanimate object, can commit a crime or act of violence on its own. But, I digress.
In 1993, Hillary testified before the U.S. Senate Finance Committee and announced her support for not only a 25-percent sales tax on gun purchases but also a $2500 “license fee” on legal gun dealers.
Then-Senator Bill Bradley, a Democrat from New Jersey, proposed the ideas to Hillary Clinton who nodded her head continuously in agreement before saying that she endorsed these measures. (video below)
Senator Bradley: “And, if we simply put a 25-percent, uh, sales tax on the sale of a gun and raised the dealer’s fees from $30.75 to $2500 we’d raise $600 million. That would be a “tax” directly on the “purveyors of violence” in terms of the sale of the “means of violence.”
Notice that Hillary nods her head over and over again, agreeing with the notion that legal gun dealers, who have followed all the government regulations, bear responsibility for the actions of criminals. That would be like blaming auto manufacturers for every accident of a driver who didn’t follow the rules of the road in their vehicles.
He then asked Hillary for her thoughts about the increased dealer fee and the 25-percent sales tax on gun purchases.
Hillary Clinton: “I’m all for that. I just don’t know what else we’re going to do to try to figure out how to get some handle on this violence. And I’m speaking personally, but I feel very strongly about that.”
Bradley went on to praise Hillary saying, “There is no more important personal endorsement in the country today, and I thank you very much.
Twenty-four years later, the Left still has your Second Amendment rights in their sight continuously attempting to figure out ways to make you a sitting duck and vulnerable to criminals who do not obtain their guns through legal means.
