FLASHBACK: When Hypocritical Obama Interfered in this Country’s Democratic Elections

Obama-Laughing

After the revelation that Democrat National Committee emails were hacked, there was speculation that the hacking was the work of Russia. Democrats expressed outrage at the thought of Russia attempting to influence elections in America but one thing they must have forgotten is that their Dear Leader, Barack Obama, did the exact same thing with the Israeli elections in 2015.

While Obama didn’t hack any emails from Israeli officials or a political party, at least that we know of, what he did do was far more hands on. His end goal was to defeat Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and some of his top campaign people were sent to Tel Aviv to try to do just that.

Independent Media and Review Analysis detailed the efforts of “One Voice,”which included the Obama campaign’s national field director running an office in Tel Aviv to defeat  Netanyahu.

Haaretz reporter Roi Arad revealed in an article in the Hebrew edition today [January 26] that the foreign funded organization, “One Voice”, is bankrolling the V-2015 campaign to defeat Binyamin Netanyahu’s national camp in the March 2015 Knesset Elections.

One indication of the generous financing is that it has now flown in a team of five American campaign experts (including Jeremy Bird, the Obama campaign’s national field director) who will run the campaign out of offices taking up the ground floor of a Tel Aviv office building.

V-2015 is careful not to support a specific party – rather “just not Bibi”. As such, the foreign funds pouring into the campaign are not subject to Israel’s campaign finance laws.

Someone so high up in Obama’s campaign would not have gone to Israel to run efforts to oust anyone, let alone the prime minister of America’s ally in the Middle East.

What made the actions of Obama’s top campaign people even more hypocritical is the fact that Obama refused to meet with Netanyahu when he visited the United States in February 2015 prior to the Israeli election citing a desire to not interfere with the election because it would be “inappropriate.”

“The White House cited the proximity of the Israeli election to Netanyahu’s visit, and the desire to refrain from interfering in the election.”

The underhanded Obama decided instead to not just interfere with but attempt to undermine Netanyahu by ousting him.

An editorial in Investor’s Business Daily pointed out that this was not the first time Obama interfered in the elections of other allies who he clashed with based on a difference in political ideology. This was, however, the first time he used a taxpayer funded organization to do his dirty work.

there seems to be something new going on with the Obama administration: the electoral overthrow of America’s allies whose politics don’t match his own.

This past week, the Washington Free Beacon reported that members of Obama’s own campaign team sent an army of operatives, including 2012 Field Director Jeremy Bird, to Israel to help oust Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, the leader Obama has clashed with and who a White House operative ominously warned would “pay a price” for speaking to Congress without Obama’s permission.

Obama went well beyond sending his political operatives to influence elections in an anti-American direction, as he did in Canada and Australia. This time he used an organization that receives taxpayer cash from the U.S. Department of State to use democracy itself to oust an ally whose politics do not match his own.

Yes, you read that correctly. A White House official said that Netanyahu would “pay a price” for speaking to Congress without Obama’s permission. That price was paid by the American taxpayer with a taxpayer-funded organization filled with Obama’s people being sent to Israel to help Netanyahu’s opponent. Team Obama’s plan failed and Netanyahu won by a landslide.

The American media was largely silent on this dirty work by Obama. Democrats did not complain about Obama trying to influence the outcome of elections in other countries.

Are we expected to be more outraged over Russia attempting to influence U.S. elections than we are over the sitting President of the United States attempting to not only influence the elections in Israel, and other places, but also ousting our great ally, Benjamin Netanyahu?
