Tim Tebow was a college football quarterback star who won the Heisman Trophy in 2009. He’s also a devout Christian. While he was playing in the 2009 BCS National Championship game, a game which his team won, he caused quite a stir to the secular world when he wore the scripture John 3:16 on his eye black. The scripture reads “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” It was Googled 90 million times over the next 24 hours upon the game beginning.
Tebow has never attempted to hide his Christian faith because it is a huge part of who he is. He continued to experience attacks by the media and the left when he played in the NFL. Although the media and the left celebrated openly homosexual Michael Sam, who was picked up as the final pick during the 2014 NFL draft upon the urging of Commissioner Roger Goodell, they attacked Tebow for getting on one knee in a quick prayer to give glory to God after a big play. Today, the media attacks on Tim Tebow continues.
Tebow had been dating former Miss USA Olivia Culpa. Although Tim has made it abundantly clear that he was not going to have sex before marriage, no doubt due to his deep-rooted Christian faith, Culpa apparently thought she could seduce him enough to change his mind. When it didn’t work, she not only dumped him, but a source leaked her reason why to the New York Daily News.
The source said, “She had to break up with him because she just couldn’t handle it. He still hits her up, but she just can’t deal with the sex thing. He’s pretty adamant about it, I guess.”
Tebow announced in 2009 that he was saving himself for marriage. But, in today’s hypersexualized society where Christianity is ridiculed and attacked, people must have thought he’d change his mind. Those who succumb to that mindset don’t get how a good looking guy like Tebow could possibly abstain from sex.
The source said that Tebow was in love with Culpa and would send her love notes telling her so. I guess real love from a man who lives his life according to the principles of his Christian faith wasn’t enough for her. Culpa wanted sex and when Tebow wouldn’t give it to her, she dumped him and let the world know why.
Of course, the media jumped at the chance to use this as an opportunity to insult Tebow and Christianity. In fact, CBS Tampa Bay saw fit to slam Tebow for his traditional morality and Christianity in an article and Facebook post about his breakup.
While the Facebook post appears to have been removed, the article is still up on their site. The statement slamming Tebow’s abstinence was not only on the Facebook post, but is the first sentence of the article.
For those of you who may say, “they don’t slam Tebow’s abstinence,” just think about it.
It is his abstinence that caused Culpa to break up with him because while he believes sex should take place between two committed individuals in a marriage, she just wanted to get laid.
CBS Tampa used that to not only attack Tebow’s break-up, but also slammed him over not making it in the NFL.
Tacky. Tasteless. Disgusting.
