‘Free’ Press? White House REQUIRES Reporters to Ask Obama About THIS Talking Point…

Do you want to interview President Obama? Then you better be willing to pitch him softballs for his preferred talking points. That’s how a free press works, right?…

The Obama Administration is now willing to grant interviews so long as the reporters are willing to ask about the Republican’s so-called “obstruction” in refusing to hold a vote for any Supreme Court nominee pitched by Obama.

Republicans have (so far) held strong in their pledge to hold-off on voting for a Supreme Court nominee until the next president is elected. This precedent has long been established as both Republicans and Democrats have fought ferociously in the past to defend their right to hold-off on voting.

The strategy has become known as the “Biden Rule,” named after former senator and current Democrat vice president Joe Biden. As a senator Barack Obama also defended the practice to wait-out then-President George W. Bush’s term before confirmation.

Recently, Cammy Dierking of Cincinnati’s WKRC-TV was invited along with five others to a press event on Monday at the White House. Dierking asked the president about his hopes for his legacy and his presidential successor.

How did these local anchors merit a press event at the White House? It’s simple, really; they agreed to serve as propagandists.

Dierking explained that the White House imposed a condition on what the reporters must ask.

“The only requirement we had was that one of our questions to President Obama had to do with the Supreme Court nominee, his nominee, Merrick Garland,” Dierking revealed.

Pre-conditions for interviews are not uncommon and the pre-conditions are often kept off-the-record. However, the pre-conditions usually center on a request to not discuss a certain topic or to plug a new project. They don’t usually require journalists to submit to the preferred narrative.

While this is far from the most-outrageous thing this administration has done with regards to controlling the press, it is but yet another sad example of this administration’s failed promise to serve as a transparent administration.

This administration has operated with a thuggish mentality with regards to press: rewards for those who do their bidding and punishments for those who don’t.

When is that “change” we were promised supposed to kick in, Barack? Time is running out…
