On Friday morning, Libertarian presidential candidate Gary Johnson was interviewed on MSNBC by Kasie Hunt about the upcoming presidential debate between Democrat nominee Hillary Clinton and Republican nominee Donald Trump. The interview begins pretty standard and ordinary, then it just gets weird.

In the 38-second clip, Hunt begins by asking Johnson, “Do you think if you were able to get on the debate stage that you could poll even with Trump and Clinton in these polls?” To this, Johnson responded, “I do, and it wouldn’t have anything to do with my debate performance either. It would just be that people would recognize that there’s another choice and that there would be an examination of me and Bill Weld as who we are and what we’ve done and not based on that.”

After that statement, things got…weird.

Johnson immediately stuck his tongue out and continued his answer for another 10 seconds of so. That’s right, Johnson, who many already view as an odd duck and not a true Libertarian, gave an interview on national television with his tongue sticking out of his mouth.
