When Justice Antonin Scalia unexpectedly died on Saturday, he had been the longest-serving justice on the Supreme Court. Appointed by Ronald Reagan in 1986, Scalia was considered to be the most conservative justice on the court.
Even typically far-left Stephen Colbert had a very respectful segment on Scalia on The Late Show. He was able to set aside his political differences to show a bit of reverence to the late Supreme Court Justice. But, it looks like Barack Obama cannot say the same.
It was announced today that neither Barack nor Michelle Obama will be attending the funeral of Justice Antonin Scalia. While vice-president Joe Biden and his wife Jill will be in attendance, the fact that the President of the United States will not attend Scalia’s funeral is a sign of glaring disrespect.
paid liar spokesperson Josh Earnest said, “The president and the first lady on Friday will travel to the Supreme Court to pay their respects to Justice Scalia as he lies in repose there are the Supreme Court.”
Sorry, Barry, that’s not quite the same.
Strangely, Earnest referred to the Obamas attending the viewing of Scalia’s body as it lies in state as an “important opportunity” to pay their respects.
So, the Obamas can take a few minutes out of their life to pass by Scalia’s casket for their photo op moment to show that they paid a little respect, but they don’t believe that his life and passing are important enough to attend his funeral.
After all, that will take a few hours and Obama no doubt has some golf to play, vacations to plan or television show to do.
This is reminiscent of Barack Obama, the most divisive president in U.S. history who likes to lecture others on setting aside differences, not attending the funeral of Margaret Thatcher who was a huge ally of President Ronald Reagan in bringing down the Berlin Wall.
But, like all elitist narcissists, Obama lives by the do as I say, not as I say rule. Conservatives are supposed to bow down to his every whim and demand with absolutely no fight and he gets to diss and insult them whenever he feels like it.
Obama is such a small man, he cannot even set aside his political differences by carving out a few hours of his life to attend the funeral of Justice Antonin Scalia.
