Important Question: What Would Have Happened if Orlando Shooter Was a Christian?

ZRefugeeabortion

There are few things the left hates so much as Christians. Sure, come election time, Democrat leaders (especially in the South) maintain their Christian credentials. However, virtually every social agenda item on the left’s “to-do” list requires first chipping-away at Christian principles and delegitimizing these principles as backwards and obstructive to “progress.”

Thus, every issue for the left has been labeled a “moral” issue of the utmost importance- the kind of issue where one who disagrees is not merely a person with a differing opinion, but a bad person opposed to progress and in favor of creating suffering.

Think about it: what issue does the left favor where it is still acceptable to agree to disagree? Gun control? Same-sex marriage? Tax cuts? Environmental issues?

All of the aforementioned requires an absolutist perspective. You are either for gun control or you are for dead children. You are either for big government regulations or you are for the imminent total destruction of our planet. Every issue is a moral imperative that cannot tolerate a different perspective.

Nowhere is this more clear than on social issues and issues related to religious freedom. Christians, the left argues, are free to be Christians… they’re just not free to worship in accordance with their beliefs or prioritize their own understandings of morality over that of the government.

With this anti-Christian hatred in mind, I ask: what would have happened if the Orlando shooter was a Christian?

No word in the English language could describe the political firestorm and pandemonium that would ensue.

As a frame of reference, a deranged young man killed black worshippers in South Carolina. When the media discovered that the shooter owned a Confederate flag, a jihad against all things Southern ensued for months. Absolute hysteria gripped the left as they encouraged destruction of property and theft of flags to (laughably) showcase their brand of “tolerance.”

So, if a simple flag was enough to elicit this kind of absolute insanity, what would have happened if the shooter had been Christian?

It would be open-season for the media to attack Christians- any Christians. They would dig-out their stock photos of the Westboro Church lunatics to use as symbols of Christians, despite the fact that the tiny group of people are extremists by anyone’s definition and represent no Christian values favored by 99.999% of America’s Christians.

Social justice warriors would swamp social media with outrageous condemnations of all Christians. Universities would likely be under-siege by students clamoring about social justice and marches, protests and walk-outs would bring academia to a standstill.

Every good social justice warrior product of the public school system would made sweeping declarations about the need for tolerance and further hatred by blaming Christians. They would clamor over one another, each trying to top other students as to who could make the most outrageous statement as a means of showing their dedication to social justice.

Most importantly, violence would occur. Riots and possibly looting would be lightly covered as “protests” and random acts of violence against Christians would be shrugged-off as “isolated incidents” as liberals pretend to not see the correlation between their vitriolic rhetoric and the actions it inspires.

When we compare these likely scenarios to the reaction that has actually occurred to the Islam-inspired terrorist attack, it is even more shocking.

What has the reaction been to the Orlando shooting? Did we have a national discussion about the dangers of radical Islam? Did the media do a good job highlighting the abysmal treatment afforded to homosexuals in the Muslim world?

Nope- instead, the left has attempted to downplay the significance of the Islamic motivations in the terrorist attack and Democrats are sticking to their script by blaming the gun used and calling for laws to undermine our Second Amendment rights.

President Obama was significantly more outraged that some were blaming Islam than he was about the attack itself- a development that was hardly surprising from a weak leader who cannot even bring himself to cite the danger facing America as “radical Islam.”

If the Orlando shooter was a Christian, this country would be torn apart in a disgusting manner and it would be done in the name of peace and tolerance.

This outrage is only compounded when we consider the hypocrisy evident in the reaction to the shooter’s Islamic motivations.

49 people are dead and because they were killed by a Muslim, our nation is turning a blind eye to the one important detail we need to address to stop further bloodshed.

Is this rock bottom? Or do we have further to go?
