Is ‘Common’ Sense Dead in America?

Common Sense

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]There seems to be a feeling of chaos, frenzy and insanity in the world.  Watch a news report, read a newspaper, listen to a radio broadcast and you might just wonder, “what in the world are people thinking?!”[/vc_column_text][banner300 banner=”5517620b381df”][vc_column_text]

  • What are the speaking heads in the mainstream media thinking as they comment and opine on the news of the day?
  • What are our educators thinking as they instruct (indoctrinate) our children pursuant to Common Core standards?
  • What are proponents of “living wage” minimums thinking?
  • What are politicians and judges thinking when they negate the demands of their constituents by opposition and judicial fiat?
  • What the HECK is a newly elected Congress thinking when they act contrary to the campaign promises they made to those who elected them?
  • What the DOUBLE HECK is our President thinking…when he’s not playing golf, on vacation or making his picks in the various sporting brackets?

I believe that each of these groups and individuals are utilizing a “sixth sense.” No, not a supernatural sort of sixth sense; but, one of three types I would like to proffer for your consideration.

The first “sixth sense” I will briefly touch on.  I believe this one is the type that MOST of the readers of this correspondence (because some may be monitoring this for nefarious reasons).  You and I are probably Constitutional Conservatives; believe in and rely on the rule of law; and, believe that we are all endowed with rights and responsibilities given to us by our Creator.  This “sixth sense” is called COMMON.  That’s right, common sense. Those of us with this sixth sense are initially perplexed by the decisions and actions of those that operate under the other two “sixth senses”.  We live in the world of facts, reality, reason and critical thought processes.

Those using the other two “sixth senses” live in a world of half truths, obfuscation, deception, blind ideology, self interest and a desire to obtain and retain power…at any and all cost.  The other two “sixth senses” differ only in the degree in the application of these attributes and their worldview.

Let’s talk about the second “sixth sense” I’ll call NON.  That’s right, nonsense.

Most of your progressive liberal special interest folks likely utilize this sixth sense when making decisions and taking action on matters.  Al Gore and the global warming/cooling/climate change crowd fit in this category.  And, some politicians also fit into this category and the third “sixth sense” to be revealed shortly.  The “living wage” minimum crowd uses their nonsense to increase costs to businesses and eventually close them or seriously curtail their operations, thereby losing jobs.[/vc_column_text][banner300 banner=”553157113d3ff”][vc_column_text]Lastly, there is the third “sixth sense” that I’ll call MALFEASANCE (I know, it’s a word play).  That’s right, the “sixth sense” utilized by a vast number of politicians and people in positions of power.  This sixth sense is usually utilized in concert with the NONSENSE sixth sense.  This explains decisions and actions taken by our President and the majority of his administration.  This explains a lot about Obama’s policies on immigration, foreign relations, national security, government budget and spending, veteran concerns, and the list goes on.  I will role RINOs (Republican in Name Only) politicians into this group.

No wonder things seem chaotic, frantic and insane.

Something for thought:  For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.

Persevere and keep using that COMMON SENSE God gave us![/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
