[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Is the hard shell of liberalism that encases the Hollywood Hills beginning to crack?
Another Hollywood star has come out recently to discuss his political views and they serve as a radical departure from the groupthink we have all come to expect from Hollywood actors.[/vc_column_text][banner300 banner=”5517620b381df”][vc_column_text]John Cusack, who used to write for the notoriously-liberal Huffington Post, had few kind words for President Obama recently as he blasted the 44th Commander-in-Chief as being “as bad- or worse- than George W. Bush.”
“Well, Obama has certainly extended and hardened the cement on a lot of Bush’s post-9/11 Terror Inc. policies, so he’s very similar to Bush in every way that way,” Cusack stated in an interview with the Daily Beast. “His domestic policy is a bit different, but when you talk about drones, the American Empire, the NSA, civil liberties, attacks on journalism and whistleblowers, he’s as bad or worse than Bush.”
Cusack added, “He hasn’t started as many wars, but he’s extended the ones we had, and I don’t even think Dick Cheney or Richard Nixon would say the president has the right to unilaterally decide whom he can kill around the world. On Tuesdays, the president can just decide whom he wants to kill, and you know, since 9/11 there are magic words like “terror,” and if you use magic words, you can justify any power grab you want.”
Cusack has been outspoken about his dislike of Obama’s policies before. Cusack revealed in an interview before the 2012 election that he believed Obama was “just another Ivy League a–hole shredding civil liberties and due process and sending people to die in some s—hole for purely political reasons.”
Of course, many on the right value George W. Bush’s leadership, but it is undeniable that Bush will go down in history as an unpopular president who’s legacy will forever be marred by some questionable policies.
When we compare Bush’s legacy with the “hope’n’change” mantra that helped deliver Obama to the Oval Office, it’s clear that the left had high hopes for the incoming Obama who, seemingly, could do no wrong and would serve as the liberal messiah to deliver America from the torturous reign of George W. Bush.
Instead, like Robespierre, Stalin and Castro, the “savior” of his people has become a bigger tyrant than the one that preceded.
Though Mr. Cusack is likely not particularly conservative, it’s refreshing to see someone- anyone– jolt themselves from the groupthink that surrounds them to see Obama for what he really is: a tyrant.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
