‘It’s Almost as if Donald Trump is Trying to Lose’ [VIDEO]

Call it a crash or just a summer slump, but Donald Trump’s campaign has certainly been in a slide the past view weeks, causing the thin-skinned narcissist to blame the press — the same press that has given him more free coverage than all other presidential candidates combined — for his stunning downturn in polls.

On ABC’s This Week on Sunday, Jon Karl reported that some Trump supporters, even within the campaign, are wondering whether the bloviating billionaire and reality TV actor is “trying to lose,” and that the campaign is in a state of utter frustration in its inability to rein in Trump’s out of control self-inflicted wounds.

“But let’s be honest. He does face a hostile news media. And that’s not surprising when you have a candidate who bans news organizations from his events, a candidate who calls the press “despicable and disgusting,” a candidate who, in every single stump speech I’ve ever seen has lashed out at the press. So it’s not surprising.

But look, Donald Trump’s problems are not because of media coverage. I have talked to in the past week people that are very much on the Trump train, advisers outside the campaign, even some advisers inside the campaign, who think that it’s almost as if Donald Trump is trying to lose. There is absolute frustration in his inability to get on message and to win a race that many of them believe is eminently winnable.”

Adding further speculation to the notion that Trump isn’t really trying to win is his statement during a campaign rally in Fairfield Connecticut on Saturday night. Trump told the crowd that he’s no longer running against Hillary Clinton. Instead, he’s running against the media.

“I’m not running against Crooked Hillary [Clinton], I’m running against the crooked media,” Trump said.

Corrupt, scandal-plagued Hillary Clinton is easily the most defeatable Democrat candidate in a generation and probably of all-time. It seems as anytime bad news breaks on her, Trump comes to the rescue with one of his crazy rants that takes over the news headlines. As Jon Karl said, it’s almost as if he’s trying to lose.
