Today’s feminism can hardly be seen to resemble first-wave feminism. While once women strived for equality, today’s feminist focuses not on what is just, but what is good for women- even if that means trampling upon men, families and long-held social institutions.
Feminists once called for women to work, to vote, to be treated as social equals. Upon achieving this, however, feminism has taken an ugly turn; now, feminism is rooted in discussions concerning fictitious “War on Women” and whether taxpayers should buy Sandra Fluke all the birth control she wants.
Perhaps the best measure of how far astray modern-day feminism has gone is to witness the unwillingness of self-described feminists to purge their ranks of the utterly insane.
For example: one of Great Britain’s leading feminists, Julie Bindle, has come out to reveal that she believes that men should be rounded-up into camps and that she hopes heterosexuality does not survive this latest round of women’s liberation.
A self-described “radical feminist,” Bindle recently weighed-in on whether heterosexuality will survive her fiery brand of feminism. She opined, (emphasis added)
It won’t, not unless men get their act together, have their power taken from them and behave themselves.
I mean, I would actually put them all in some kind of camp where they can all drive around in quad bikes, or bicycles, or white vans. I would give them a choice of vehicles to drive around with, give them no porn, they wouldn’t be able to fight – we would have wardens, of course! Women who want to see their sons or male loved ones would be able to go and visit, or take them out like a library book, and then bring them back.
I hope heterosexuality doesn’t survive, actually. I would like to see a truce on heterosexuality. I would like an amnesty on heterosexuality until we have sorted ourselves out. Because under patriarchy it’s sh–.
And I am sick of hearing from individual women that their men are all right. Those men have been shored up by the advantages of patriarchy and they are complacent, they are not stopping other men from being sh–.
I would love to see a women’s liberation that results in women turning away from men and saying: “when you come back as human beings, then we might look again.”
Imagine, for a second, that a man seethed with such misogynistic hatred for women that he proposed rounding up all women and putting them into camps until they can “behave themselves.” The mainstream media would (rightfully) join together to voice outrage and shine a light on this commentary as proof of some broad “War on Women.”
However, when a national leader of feminism utters such lunacy, nobody questions it.
There is a war on men occurring. As a warped, twisted means of gaining retribution for past social inequalities, many women (but notably, not all) have subscribed to a warped, perverse brand of “feminism” that is merely a sanitized term for radical and dangerous misandry.
