Col. Rob Maness is a true American patriot. Freedom is not an abstract talking point or a buzzword to solicit votes. It is something worth fighting for and something worth dying for if need be.
The retired Air Force Colonel and current Senate candidate from Louisiana fought for over three decades for this country and sees freedom as a right of all Americans. Further, he sees government as the protector, not giver, of freedom.
Recently, Democrat presidential candidate Hillary Clinton adamantly refused to cite the right to bear arms as a constitutional right. The notoriously anti-Second Amendment candidate has not only refused to cite the right to bear arms as a constitutionally-protected right, but has also voiced support for an Australian-style system of gun confiscation and this week claimed that the landmark Heller decision from the Supreme Court was an error that destroyed our “nuanced” understanding of the Second Amendment which Clinton alleges allows for considerable regulation and infringement.
In response to Clinton’s anti-Second Amendment rhetoric, Col. Maness offered some tough talk. Grasping a rifle and rebutting Clinton’s ludicrous contentions, Maness spoke bluntly and forcefully in an open post to Mrs. Clinton.
“Every individual does have a Constitutional right to bear arms. Not only do we have a Constitutionally right to bear arms, we have a natural right to bear arms from our creator. And no politician — not even you, Mrs. Clinton — can ever take that right away from us,” Maness declares.
“While limousine liberals like you ride around with your armed bodyguards for protection, us average citizens don’t have that luxury. And we need the Second Amendment ourselves and our families. And we will keep doing that no matter what any out of touch, anti-gun zealots have to say about it. I’ll be damned if I’m ever allow some politician or government bureaucrat get in the way of me and being able to protect my family,” he said as he racks a round into the chamber.
“’Shall not be infringed’ means exactly what it says,” Maness concludes.
The video is bold and refreshing and has gone viral. It garnered 92,000 hits within 12 hours of release and is at well over 600K since its release on Monday night.
At a time when to many Second Amendment champions feel the need to defend their rights on liberals’ terms and explain why they need this gun or that magazine, Col. Maness’ remarks give no quarter to the insidious liberal talking points that demand patriots explain why they should retain a shred of their God-given rights.
Mr. Maness would make a great addition to the Senate and God willing, Americans can get more like him into a position to advance much-needed sensible policies.
