It is literally getting impossible to escape politics, whether it’s sports (NFL) and now commercials.
I was literally just watching some of the talking heads on CNN spin post-debate narratives, and a commercial comes on from Celebrity Cruise Lines. I was barely paying attention and then the words hit me (Video Below).
“Far from the talk of building walls, far from the threats of keeping people out, far from the rhetoric of fear is a world of differences — differences that expand and enrich us. Because after all, our lives aren’t made better when we close ourselves off to the world. They’re made better when we open ourselves up to it.”
Obviously, this is an extremely thinly-veiled slam to Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump (“rhetoric of fear”) and sounds like it could have been written by Hillary Clinton herself, but it’s a rejection of U.S. border security as a whole as well as anyone who believes that if you have no borders, you have no nation.
The FEC should investigate this ad as a contribution to Hillary Clinton’s campaign because that’s exactly what it sounds like.
Funny thing it, the lovely Mrs. Burke mentioned to me that she was looking into taking a cruise on Celebrity Cruise Lines at some point. Now, we will spend our travel dollars elsewhere.
