In early April of this year, Donald Trump shared with USA Today that Marco Rubio was one person he would consider as his vice-presidential running mate should he win the nomination. Now that Trump is the presumptive nominee, there has been much speculation as to who he will select as his running mate.
One name he can take out of contention is Florida Senator Marco Rubio , or “Little Marco” as Trump so insultingly called him during his primary campaign.
In a scathing statement released on Facebook, Rubio said that he is not now and will not ever be interested in being Donald Trump’s VP choice essentially because the reservations he has always had about his campaign and policies remain. Instead, Rubio said, it would be better for Trump to have a running mate who could embrace his campaign, which Rubio obviously cannot do.
A quick check of Donald Trump’s Twitter account, his favorite social media avenue to spew his every thought without thinking it through, shows that he has not yet begun an attack on “Little Marco.”
Given Trump’s track record, it’s only a matter of time before he begins.
