Marco Rubio Makes a HUGE Announcement

When Marco Rubio entered the presidential race, he said that would be his focal point and made the announcement that he would not seek re-election for his Senate seat. Ever since he left the GOP presidential race, many have been calling on him to file and run for the Senate once again.

Rubio has now made a decision that may make Republicans, who are hoping to maintain control of the Senate, breathe a sigh of relief.

Kelly O’Donnell, from NBC News, tweeted confirmation that Marco Rubio will seek re-election to the Senate.

She added that Rubio’s decision to seek re-election will force Democrats to spend more money in that race in hopes of defeating him.

Rubio made his own announcement about this major change of course in his decision to run again on Twitter with a series of tweets, including a link to an official announcement on his website in which he explains why he is running. Reasons cited include his belief that Republican control of the Senate may come down to Florida and that will have ramifications that will affect future SCOTUS decisions, the Iran nuclear deal, and the United States economy.

Rubio added that this decision was one made not due to the influence of Republican leadership in DC but was rather one his family made together over Father’s Day.

Rubio sat down with FOX News’ Chris Wallace to discuss his decision to seek re-election. The full interview will air at 6 pm ET tonight, Wednesday, on Special Report
