When Marco Rubio was still on the campaign trail, things got more than a little contentious between him and Donald Trump. Rubio became a target of Trump who began referring to the Florida Senator as “Little Marco.” Rubio began to hit back, even taking the shot at Trump during a debate that if it weren’t for Donald Trump inheriting $200 million from his father, a New York real estate developer, that his lot in life would be “selling watches in Manhattan.”
That was just the beginning of Rubio’s constant ridiculing of Trump, a tactic he later said he regretted. Rubio joke about Trump’s small hands still obviously haunts Trump to this day since he often reassures everyone that his hand size is just fine. Rubio was also highly critical of those who support Trump saying he found support for Trump frightening and disturbing. That makes his statement today even more surprising.
Just last month, Rubio said he didn’t know if he could support Trump as the nominee. He did a complete 180 on that statement today during an interview on WIOD in Miami.ubio was asked again if he would support Donald Trump if he was the nominee. He replied that he would support whoever the nominee is, meaning even Trump.
Rubio was asked again if he would support Donald Trump if he was the nominee. He replied that he would support whoever the nominee is, meaning even Trump.
“I’ve always said I’m going to support the Republican nominee … and that’s especially true now that it’s apparent that Hillary Clinton is going to be the Democratic [nominee].”
Will Trump continue to call him “Little Marco” and ridicule him or will he cease doing such a thing since Rubio has indicated that he will get on the Trump Train if Trump wins the nomination?
Only time will tell.
