[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Ever since Jon Stewart, who has hosted Comedy Central’s The Daily Show since 1999, announced his retirement, there has been speculation as to who would succeed him, should the show go on beyond the Stewart years. On Monday, Comedy Central answered that question with the announcement of their replacement for the show. Their new host choice is, to put it mildly, controversial.
[/vc_column_text][banner300 banner=””][vc_column_text]South African comedian Trevor Noah will be the new host of The Daily Show and his selection is already generating criticism. The 31-year old Noah is relatively new to the public eye, but he is not quite new to The Daily Show since he was introduced in December 2014 as a guest contributor. Comments that he made during that appearance and tweets that he has sent out through the years are leading some to wonder why Comedy Central has selected an America-hating, anti-Semitic ‘comedian’ to host their popular program?
Newsbusters reported on Noah’s December 2014 appearance and shed light on numerous America-bashing, lie-based, controversial ‘jokes’ he made.
After introducing Noah as the show’s newest contributor at the time, Stewart noted: “And I know that you flew in, I guess, yesterday from South Africa.” Noah replied: “Yeah, I just flew in and boy are my arms tired….No, no, seriously, I’ve been holding my arms like this since I got here.” He made the completely discredited “Hands Up, Don’t Shoot” gesture with his hands and added: “I never thought I’d be more afraid of police in America than in South Africa. It kind of makes me a little nostalgic for the old days back home.”
But, he didn’t stop there. He ramped up his America bashing even further using the race baiting narrative.
“Here’s the amazing part, for South Africa to achieve that kind of black-white wealth gap, we had to construct an entire Apartheid state, denying blacks the right to vote or own property. But you, you did it without even trying.”
Is this the kind of ‘humor’ we are to expect from Trevor Noah? The self-described ‘proud progressive,’ as pointed out by The Gateway Pundit, also does not even try to hide his disdain for Jews as clearly evidenced in these anti-Semitic tweets.
According to Twitchy, Noah tweeted then removed a slightly snarky tweet responding to the outrage surrounding his selection as host of The Daily Show. The tweet read “Twitter does not have enough characters to respond to all the characters on Twitter.” However, he has left on his Twitter timeline the anti-Semitic, misogynistic tweets at the center of the firestorm. Here’s another sampling of his bigoted tweets.
According to Slate, Comedy Central did not audition Trevor Noah, but did they vet him at all? Are they aware of his vulgar, anti-Semitic, misogynistic, America-bashing, and advocating for the domestic violence past? Or is this the ‘new comedy’ they want to introduce into mainstream America in order to indoctrinate society?[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
