“He tells the truth even when it’s hard — and he does what he says he’s going to do.” ~ Sen. Mike Lee on Ted Cruz
Utah Senator Mike Lee , an American statesman and constitutional defender with a sterling reputation for honesty and integrity, appeared on the new LevinTV with constitutional scholar, best-selling author and leading radio host Mark Levin, and one of the topics discussed was Mike Lee’s endorsement of Ted Cruz for president.
Mark Levin asked Lee why he chose to endorse the Texas senator for president, and without saying so directly, provided a powerful rejection of bloviating billionaire and reality TV actor Donald Trump’s phony “Lyin’ Ted” label — a projection — that he has attempted to attach to Cruz, without having either the mental capacity and/or the integrity to explain just what exactly Cruz has been lying about (because he can’t).
Senator Lee calls Cruz “his friend,” a friend with the admirable qualities of, a) telling the truth, even when it’s inconvenient, and, b) keeping his promises.
“I endorsed Ted Cruz because Ted Cruz is my friend. And being a friend, he has a couple of qualities that anyone should look for in a friend — he tells the truth even when it’s hard — and he does what he says he’s going to do.”
Mike Lee continued, praising Ted Cruz for running for office as a constitutional conservative, and then going to Washington, DC, and having the “audicity to actually act and vote and otherwise comport himself in a manner consistent with constitutional conservativism.”
Lee admitted that the anti-establishment Cruz has ruffled some feathers in Washington, but found him to be an excellent colleague and called him “absolutely brilliant.” Lee contended that Cruz’s “deep commitment” to the U.S. Constitution is exactly what the country needs.
Senator Mike Lee, who Ted Cruz hinted would look great “in a black robe” (Supreme Court justice), is the author of Our Lost Constitution: The Willful Subversion of America’s Founding Document.
