In the Name of Political Correctness, PETA Wants Golfer to Change his Name

Andrew "BEEF" Johnston

The fear-monger controlists at PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) are at it again. It seems they have an issue with the name of a pro-golfer and they want him to change it.

Yes, you read that correctly. The radicals at PETA want a man to change his name because they don’t like it.

Andrew Johnston, a professional golfer, has gone by the nickname “BEEF” since he was a kid. His Twitter handle is even @BeefGolf. Even though that name has been part of who is nearly all his life, PETA wants him to change his name to, get this, “TOFU.”

This was not a joke. PETA actually contacted Beef with the suggestion that he change his name along with a “gift” of vegan steaks and burgers.

Like many others, we’ve been enthusiastically following your career, and we thought we’d send you a gift of delicious vegan steaks and burgers in the hope that you’ll consider adopting a kinder, healthier vegan lifestyle, which would pave the way for a new nickname: Andrew ‘Tofu’ Johnston.

Your new nickname would also raise awareness of the urgent need to move towards a cruelty-free lifestyle to offset the worst effects of climate change. According to the United Nations, animal agriculture is “one of the top two or three most significant contributors to the most serious environmental problems, at every scale from local to global.”

Beef made it perfectly clear that he has no intention of changing his name, laughing off the prospect and suggestion.

I mean, come on! The guy even has his own custom wedge and is sponsored by Arby’s.

What PETA doesn’t want you to know is that they have killed over 34,000 dogs and cats since 1998. It seems that animal lives only matter to them when they can use that animal to score political points and raise money.
