National Review Goes ‘Against Trump;’ Immediately Gets Punished by GOP Establishment

Apparently the GOP establishment is not too happy with the new special edition of National Review.

On Thursday evening, the 60-year-old conservative publication — founded by late conservative icon William F. Buckley, Jr., strongly came out “Against Trump,” a powerful rejection against the bombastic billionaire and reality TV star that was endorsed by 22 leading American conservatives.

Only hours later, National Review publisher Jack Fowler announced that the Republican National Committee (RNC), led by Reince Priebus, has disinvited the publication from the GOP debate on February 25th because of “Against Trump.”

Fowler wrote that the punishment by the RNC is a small price to pay for speaking the truth about Trump:

Tonight, a top official with the RNC called me to say that National Review was being disinvited.  The reason: Our “Against Trump“ editorial and symposium. We expected this was coming. Small price to pay for speaking the truth about The Donald.

Trump responded to the “Against Trump” in a way that you might expect a petulant Alinskyite might, going on a Twitter rampage.

Leading conservatives like Glenn Beck, Andrew McCarthy, Dana Loesch, Katie Pavlich, Brent Bozell and seventeen others joined to endorse the “Against Trump” statement, and each wrote their own statements which can be viewed on National Review.

“Trump might be the greatest charlatan of them all,” Brent Bozell opined.

Trump’s Twitter feed Friday is going to be very busy if he goes ballistic against all 22 of these conservatives individually.
