NBC News reporter Katy Tur was singled out by Republican nominee Donald Trump during a campaign rally in Miami on Wednesday, taunting the reporter in front of a large crowd, pointing directly to the press area and shouting, “There’s something happening. They’re not reporting it. Katy — you’re not reporting it, Katy,” Trump said. “But there’s something happening, Katy. There’s something happening, Katy.”
Trump’s primary complaint, one that he often repeats, is that the camera fixated on him speaking is not turned around to show the large audience in front of him and that not doing so is an example of mainstream media bias.
But on Friday, Tur contended that the press pool camera at Trump’s events is one unmanned, fixed camera and that Trump knows this and actually has joked with reporters about it in the past. In other words, it’s all a big act to rile up his supporters.
Tur further contends that the Trump doesn’t even allow reporters to leave the designated press area which would allow for more expansive filming of the crowds.
“Donald Trump was complaining about this idea that he has the press doesn’t show his crowds, which is just factually untrue,” Tur said on MSNBC on Friday following another Trump rally in Florida. “The cameras that are there, there’s a number of cameras. He sees them all — oftentimes when he’s playing to the camera and saying we don’t move our cameras to show these crowds, the cameras are all looking in opposite directions showing the crowds.”
“And not to mention, we are penned in,” Tur explained. “The campaign doesn’t allow the cameras to even leave to go get more crowd pictures,” she said, noting that other reporters daily interview rally attendees and report on them.
“So the idea that we’re not showing this movement is just factually incorrect,” Tur further asserted. “Donald Trump also does know this to be incorrect. He’s joked in private with reporters about how he understands how the pool camera works,” she revealed, referring to the one camera fixated on Trump while he’s speaking at campaign rallies.
As you might expect, Katy Tur has experienced hateful harassment from some Trump supporters as a result of Trump’s schtick.
Trump says his usual "dishonest media" as he points to us. Crowd boos. Heard someone yell, "@KatyTurNBC is a whore."

Needless to say, it appears as though some in the crowd are in on the fraudulent charge as well.
Women yell "turn the cameras" at my camera which is pointing directly at them and in the opposite direction of Trump.
