New California Poll Spells Bad News for Hillary Clinton

We are less than two weeks before the California primary and, although Hillary Clinton is still the presumed Democrat nominee, a new poll out of the Golden State will have Hillary Clinton a bit on edge.

The Public Policy Institute of California released the results of their latest poll ahead of the June 7 primary. In what will come as a shock and an embarrassment to Clinton and her supporters, she is in a dead heat with wild-eyed socialist Bernie Sanders.

The PPIC released the results of their poll in a press release on Thursday.

Among Democratic primary likely voters, 46 percent support Clinton and 44 percent support Sanders. These voters include Democrats and independents who say they will vote in the Democratic primary. Clinton has a slight lead over Sanders among registered Democrats (49% to 41%).

Voters age 45 and older are more likely to support Clinton (59%), while younger voters are more likely to favor Sanders (66%). Both men (46% Sanders, 42% Clinton) and women (49% Clinton, 42% Sanders) are divided.

The poll has a margin of error of 4.3%.

The PPIC also found that both Democrat presidential candidates have an advantage over presumed GOP nominee Donald Trump. When asked about the November presidential election, 49% favored Hillary to Trump’s 39%. In that match up, 11% would either vote for someone else or were undecided.

The wild-eyed socialist Bernie Sanders performed better against Trump in the state known for its far-left politics. In such a matchup, 53% favored Sanders to 36% support for Trump. Again, 11% are either undecided or would vote for someone else.
