There is new information regarding the machete-wielding Muslim terrorist who attacked customers at Nazareth Restaurant and Deli in Columbus, Ohio. The deli is owned by a Christian man of Israeli-Arab descent, Hansri Barani, who believes that he was targeted because, as an Israeli and a Christian,  he is in the minority in the area and therefore very hated. He also has no doubt that this attack was linked to terrorism.

Though the FBI immediately encouraged people not to jump to conclusions, local law enforcement authorities feared from the outset that this was a lone wolf terrorist attack, the very kind encouraged by Obama’s JV team, ISIS. Those fears have now been validated by new information revealed about the attacker, Mohamed Barry.

WSYX-6 investigative reporter Brooks Jarosz tweeted Friday night that Barry’s name was in a database of names potentially linked to terrorism. It was this flagging that caused Columbus police to contact the FBI after the attack.

Jarosz sent out another tweet indicating that although Barry’s name was in a database of names potentially linked to terrorism, he was not under a full investigation by the FBI.

ABC 6 reports that officials are investigating Barry’s online activities to see if he has had communication with extremist groups and also to see if there is any connection to terrorist propaganda.

Mohamed Barry was shot by police after his terrorist attack which sent five people to the hospital. His vehicle description was put out on radio channels. After an officer spotted and finally successfully stopped his car, Barry exited the vehicle with his machete and a knife. The attempt to tase him was not successful. Officers shot Barry multiple times after he lunged at officers with his knife and machete.

According to Jarosz’s reporting, police believe that Barry, who had a Columbus address and is believed to have traveled to Dubai in 2012, acted alone.
