[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]On Thursday, the University of Maryland caved to the demands of a Muslim student group who was outraged over the planned screening of American Sniper, the movie about the life of Chris Kyle. The Muslim students slandered the life and legacy of Kyle by stating that the movie is Islamophobic, racist, and nationalistic. After the group collected 318 signatures, the university caved and agreed to cancel the planned screening of the film.[/vc_column_text][banner300 banner=”5517620b381df”][vc_column_text]The Muslim students rejoiced, praising not just Allah, but also praising the University of Maryland for squashing free speech by using their own free speech. But, the university is now catching some heat from a prominent source, and his promise to them will no doubt hurt.
Former NFL quarterback and current analyst Boomer Esiason is a graduate of the University of Maryland, and he is furious about their decision to not show American Sniper due to the complaint from Muslim students. In a tweet following the university’s decision, Esiason linked to a Fox News story about it and expressed his anger. He let the university know that he would no longer be donating money to the school and praised Chris Kyle, the most lethal sniper in American military history, as a hero.
