One of the cornerstone principles of our republic is that the government works for the people. The government is supposed to serve as a servant of the people. Instead, however, the American people are saddled with a highly-partisan activist Supreme Court, a Congress filled with entrenched lawmakers more interested in staying in power than serving the people and an executive branch riddled with outright corruption and tyrannical tendencies.
Though all branches of our government are infested with despotism, no government entity in American history has been as tyrannical as the Obama Regime.
Often directly at-odds with Americans and the Constitution, the Obama Regime operates as a quasi-representative executive entity by abiding by constitutional limitations when they coincide with the executive agenda and disregarding rules, laws and constitutional limitations when they serve as obstacles to the enactment of Barack Obama’s radical agenda.
In this spirit, the Obama Administration has flatly refused to testify before Congress to explain why this administration has repeatedly purged official national security documents of any mention of Islamic terrorism.
Over the past year, Obama Administration officials have twice ordered that mentions of ISIS or “radical Islam” be purged from “highly significant public records.”
One such instance occurred recently as the White House censored 911 transcripts of the call made by Omar Mateen, the radical Islamic terrorist who killed 49 people at a club in Orlando and who called 911 to indicate that he was doing so in the name of Islamic terror.
This shameful censorship came after the Department of Homeland Security instructed personnel to scrub mentions of topics like “sharia” and “jihad” from documents related to how to combat terrorism.
Sen. Ted Cruz , chair of the Senate Judiciary subcommittee on oversight, had requested information concerning the Politburo-like purge of information. However, top Obama Justice Department officials have refused to testify before the committee.
“I would like nothing more than to speak with a government official about these bizarre decisions and omissions, especially in light of the most recent terrorist attack in Orlando by a radicalized man who had been interviewed three times by the FBI,” Cruz said.
“Indeed, this subcommittee invited two such witnesses: John P. Carlin, an assistant attorney general for the Department of Justice’s National Security Division, and Michael B. Steinbach, the executive assistant director for the FBI’s National Security Branch,” he said. “Both have refused to appear.”
Cruz claimed that this administration’s deliberate actions to curtail discussions of the dangers posed by Islamic terrorism have led to inadequate protections for Americans against the rising threat of Islamic terrorism.
There has been a “consistent effort by this administration to scrub any reference to radical Islamic terrorism, to pretend the threat does not exist, and tragically as a consequence of that, over and over again, we have instances where the administration has ample evidence of radical Islamic terrorists,” Cruz said.
“The consequence of a willful blindness, of a policy that is a matter of administration policy, refusal to acknowledge the threat, means over and over again this administration has allowed the threats to go forward,” he stated.
The Obama Administration has largely relied upon a foreign policy formed around erroneous and optimistic interpretations of global realities.
While attempting to serve as the counter to George W. Bush’s more-aggressive foreign policy stance, the Obama Administration has worked to tread lightly and remain ineffective at decimating terrorist networks.
They combine with this approach a pretense with the American public that all is well and that terrorism is under control. In reality, however, Obama’s foreign policy weakness has allowed for a significant strengthening of jihadist networks both abroad and domestically.
Still, despite the looming threats and continued terrorist attacks occurring on U.S. soil, the Obama Administration appears infinitely more concerned about censoring the realities of terrorist motivations and protecting Islam than doing anything practical to thwart the rising threats endangering Americans.
