ORWELLIAN: Twitter Caves to PC Police; Have They Gone Completely Anti-Free Speech?

When George Orwell wrote the dystopian all-time bestseller 1984 in 1949, he may not have been aware how accurately the prophecy was, except for the year.

In addition to the year being a bit off, Orwell may be surprised that it wouldn’t turn out to be just big government acting as Big Brother watching and correcting your every move, but private industry would willingly join in on the tyranny, in cahoots with Big Brother in their scheme to squelch free speech and prosecute “thought crimes.”

Which takes us to the micro-blogging social media service, Twitter, which is now allowing users to report “disagreement” as an “abusive or harassing behavior,” a chilling policy that could have severely damaging effects on free speech on the popular site.

Below is a screenshot of an online form that pops up when one Twitter user wants to report another account holder of harassment:

So just imagine how the anti-free speech leftists could use this new policy. Leftist locusts could target, say, anyone who was pro-Second Amendment, or gang up on pro-liberty, pro-Constitution Tea Party activists and have them banned from Twitter if enough people complain that they “disagreed” with them.

After Marxist Obama leaves office, the radical community agitator could easily use his massive social media presence to bully pro-freedom Americans into silence by getting them banned.

As InfoWars reported, radical feminists have been putting pressure on the United Nations to censor the internet to make telling someone on sites like Twitter, “You suck” to be the equivalent of thought crimes.

Very -un-American of you, Twitter.
